When the lockdowns closed the doors, the sermons went out over the internet instead — and never stopped. Sunday services and weekday fellowships are streamed from the sanctuary in Kahawa Sukari to whoever will watch, wherever they are.

Where it started
A closed church, and a camera.
The streaming began during the COVID lockdown, for the plainest of reasons: the congregation could not come. What began as a way to reach the people who already belonged to the church has carried on reaching people who never could have — the messages now travel far past Kahawa Sukari.
What goes out
Sunday services and weekday fellowships, on two channels.
Services are streamed on Sunday and again through the week, on both YouTube and Facebook. The teaching is given by Simon and Joyce under the GOFAMI banner — God for the Family Ministries — and the archive of past messages stays up for anyone who wants to go back to one.
What would take it further
Filmed on phones, and ready to go further.
Everything is recorded on mobile phones, which has carried the ministry a long way and sets a ceiling on the picture and the sound. Better lighting, a camera and someone trained to run it would lift every recording — and turn an occasional stream into a steady one.
