The school run
Children come to Jepegomi Academy from across Kahawa Sukari, and how they get there decides how many can come at all. The school has a van, and it is raising for a bus that will carry the school it is growing into.

This van was bought with money given toward a school vehicle, and A partner church has since given toward repairing it and returning it to the road. Both gifts are for the van, not the bus, and neither is counted in the figure below.
Where we are

The academy has a van — a yellow Toyota, lettered for the school and the church. It was bought with money given toward a school vehicle and it did that work faithfully, and it is standing off the road while it waits on repairs.
The same partner church that built the kitchen has since given toward getting it running again, and we are grateful for it.

What was given toward a school vehicle is what bought the van standing at the school — the gift became the vehicle, which is exactly what it was for.

Where we are going
A van would be full the day it arrived.
The school has grown and it keeps growing. Another small van would be at capacity on its first morning and too small by the following term. A 26-seater bus carries the school as it is now and leaves room for the children still to come — and it is a vehicle the church can use too, for services, rallies and outings.
What it changes
A safe ride, and a wider gate.
Children who live too far to walk safely can enrol. Parents who cannot leave work to make the trip twice a day can send their child anyway. And the ministry stops paying to hire transport every time it needs to move anybody anywhere.
